A sister restaurant to the original Glasgow one, The Spanish Butcher impresses with a confident a la carte menu. Whilst they offer Scotch beef, their headliners are the Galician cuts -beef and pork- served with sides like manchego truffle fries or sautéed garlic and paprika potatoes. A cauliflower dish takes care of any vegans in the house whilst the fillet of hake and smoked paprika roasted Shetland monkfish tail will satisfy fish lovers. They don’t hold back on flavours so prawns with garlic and chilli have A LOT of kick to them. Spanish Butcher offers a decent set lunch menu and the Sunday roast is a winner. The wine list is heavy on Spanish and South American varieties, as you would expect, whilst the cocktails list has much to recommend it.
